The grant, announced on Thursday, July 17th, at the Melrose Fire Department in Melrose, was for $5,000 from Clay Electric Cooperative and was part of their Operation Round Up program for 2025.
The K-12 saw is used to cut concrete and metal and is mainly used to gain access for entrapment, open a garage door to reach a fire, or cut through rubble in a concrete collapse situation.
“We greatly appreciate the grant and our partnership with Clay Electric Co-op. These items were needed for us to continue with our daily life-saving operations,” said Chief Kevin Mobley.
