





The Miss Union County High “Barbie Edition” Pageant will take place Thursday, Nov. 16, at the UCHS auditorium. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the pageant begins at 7 p.m.
Tickets are available on GoFan and at the door for $7; children 4 and under enter for free.
This year there are a total of six contestants, and they have worked extremely in preparation for this event. There are a total of 10 categories: Academic Achievement, Activities and Honors, Interview, Talent, Opening Dance and Introductions, On-Stage Question, Casual Wear, Evening Gown, Most Photogenic, and People’s Choice.
The People’s Choice category was added three years ago and is strictly based upon the total amount of funds donated by each contestant’s supporters. The judges have no involvement in People’s Choice and this category plays no role in determining the next titleholder.
The contestant this year are:
Sydney Box: The daughter of Jacob and Laresa Box. Box is a 17-year-old senior at UCHS sponsored by Greg and CeeCee Box. Following graduation, Box plans to become a speech therapist or teacher.
Layla Piggott: The daughter of Myron and Leslie Piggot. Piggott is a 17-year-old senior at UCHS sponsored by 21 On Main Street Frozen Yogurt, Becky Raulerson, Ted Barber and American Legion Post 153. Following graduation, Piggott plans to further her studies in early childhood education and childhood psychology.
Jessica Kingsbury: The daughter of Stacey and Richard Kingsbury. Kingsbury is a 17-year-old senior at UCHS sponsored by Andrews Site Prep and Traci Waters Photography. Following graduation, Kingsbury plans to further her education in psychology and human behavior.
Ava Westmoreland: The daughter of Sara and Forrest Westmoreland. Westmoreland is a 17-year-old junior at UCHS sponsored by Sara and Forrest Westmoreland. Westmoreland plans to begin the sonography program.
Kadence Adams: The daughter of Kristen and Andy Adams. Adams is a 17-year-old senior at UCHS sponsored by Aunt Jane and Uncle Stu. Adams plans to further her education further her education in criminology and become an FBI agent.
Cailynn Boggs: The daughter of Angelina Akins and Steven Boggs. Boggs is a 17-year-old senior at UCHS sponsored by Waddell’s LLC. Boggs plans to further her education in genetics while competing on the college horse judging team.
The Sophomore sponsors are ecstatic to watch each contestant gracefully compete for the title of Miss Union County High 2023. Family, friends and the community are encouraged to come watch the show.
