More than half of Florida remained in extreme drought, including all or part of 10 district counties, said Tim Miller, the St. Johns River Water Management District’s bureau chief for water resource information, with the rest in severe or moderate drought. Ending the drought within three months would require the district’s driest regions to exceed normal rainfall by about 70%, he said, citing federal climate data.
