After dropping three of their first four matches, the Northside Christian Academy volleyball team has reeled off six straight wins, with the latest being a sweep of Jacksonville’s Victory Christian on Sept. 22 in Starke.
The Eagles (7-3) were strong from the outset against Victory, scoring eight straight points with Rosalea Norman serving. Norman would end the first set with a kill.
Northside continued to roll, scoring the first six points of the second set with Briley Parrish serving. Two of those points came off aces.
It turned out to be Northside’s third straight 3-0 win.
The Eagles opened the season with a 3-0 win over Hope Christian on Aug. 24 before losing matches against Pompano Beach’s Highlands Christian, Morrisdale, Pennsylvania’s West Branch and Highlands Christian again in a Sept. 1-2 tournament.
Northside bounced back with a 3-2 win over High Springs’ First Christian on Sept. 5, followed by a 3-0 win over Live Oak’s Westwood Christian on Sept. 12. After a 3-1 win over Jasper’s Corinth Christian on Sept. 14, the Eagles swept Hope Christian on Sept. 18 and Ocala’s First Assembly Christian on Sept. 19 before the Sept. 22 win over Victory.
The Eagles host First Christian on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 5 p.m. and will host Westwood on Thursday, Sept. 28, at 5:30 p.m. Northside travels to Yulee to play Faith Christian on Friday, Sept. 29, at 5 p.m. before returning home to play First Assembly on Tuesday, Oct. 3, at 5:30 p.m.
