Herbert Dula Sr.
Mr. Herbert Edward Dula Sr., 78, of Keystone Heights was surrounded by his family when he went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. He was born April 23, 1948, in Ferndale, Michigan to the late Daniel and Phyllis (Naramore) Dula. Mr. Dula proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, earning the rank of Sergeant. Following his military service, he devoted many years to the Ford Motor Company, where his strong work ethic and dedication led him to become a vehicle programmer before retiring. To know Herb was to know kindness, laughter, and friendship. Affectionately known as “Mr. Sociable,” he had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued. He truly never met a stranger, and his warm smile, quick wit, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path. A dance instructor at heart, he found joy in sharing his love of country music and dancing with others. He also enjoyed playing cornhole and treasured the countless memories made while camping with family and friends, a tradition that began in 1984, and became one of the great joys of his life. Whether around a campfire, on the dance floor, or simply visiting with friends, he had a way of bringing people together and making every moment a little brighter. Herb’s greatest joy was the love he shared with his family.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 43 years, Kathy (Cross) Dula; his daughter, Rebecca (Chris Evans) Dula; sons, Daniel (Casey) Dula, and Herbert (Kris) Dula Jr.; and his sister, Patricia Stalker. He was a proud and loving “Papa” to nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart. He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared and miss his generous spirit, infectious smile, and unwavering love for life.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 24, at Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Curtis officiating. Interment was private at Jacksonville National Cemetery. Bradley Jachna
Bradley Joseph Jachna, 71, of Lawtey passed peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2026. He entered the world in Cleveland, Ohio on July 8, 1955, in the back seat of a car on the way to the hospital, a fact that he was proud of. He has been living life on his own terms ever since. He was one of the best of men to his family and Riding Brothers. He was a Master Carpenter for over 40 years, building homes for families everywhere from the elegant mansions of Jupiter Island to Bradford County, passing on his knowledge and skill on at every job site. He lived his life proudly as the N.F.G. that he was with no apology. He was a mountain of a man that rode through life leaving a wake of people who either loved him or hated him, and he was proud of both. Some of the highlights of his life were cooking every family meal, especially Thanksgiving, taking his grandchildren in the woods to teach them how to hunt and where the best huckleberry bushes were. He loved long talks with his family while making his daily patrol on his golfcart and being the neighbor everyone turned to whether it was a broken tractor or a snake being spotted. He was a biker, a brother, carpenter, Umpha, Daddy-Fix, loving husband, and friend. The loss of him in this world will never be filled. He was proceeded in death by his daughter, Martha Jane Jachna; father, Joseph Jachna; mother, Ruth Jachna “Busha”; sisters, Bonnie and Darlene; and brother, Darrell Jachna.
Bradley is survived in death by his wife of over 40 years, Kathryn Jachna; daughters, Nichole Porter, Bonnie Jachna, Stephanie (Daniel) (Jachna) Fasano; and grandchildren, Kaylee Davis, Trevor and Kelsey McTavish, Jacob and Nicholas Porter, Trinity and Joseph Fasano. He also leaves behind his brother, Dale, and sister, Dawn.
Bradley’s tribute was lovingly prepared by his family. The family will celebrate Bradley’s life privately at a later date.

Marilyn Jones
Mrs. Marilyn Germaine Jones, 95, of Keystone Heights passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Wiley Manor in Keystone Heights. She was born Feb. 15, 1931, in Blackshear, Georgia, to the late Colonel and Laverne (Johnson) Davis. Known for her artistic talents, she enjoyed crafting, painting, and working in her woodworking shop. Marilyn would often be found reading the Bible with a hot cup of tea. Her love for the water, nature, and her family will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 61 years, Carl Jones Sr.; her son, Bill (Lorie) Jones; her brother, Colonel Davis; and her sister, Janis Armstrong. She was a proud “Nana” to her grandchildren, CW, Matt (Jessie), Sarah (Joshua), Jessica and Lydia Ann; and great-grandchildren, Ian, Lily, Alex and Luna.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 31, at 3 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bobby Epps officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Eliam Cemetery in Melrose. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and she will be deeply missed.

Timothy Leggett
Timothy Leggett, 70, a life-long resident of Starke, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2026, at his residence. He had attended the schools of Bradford County and served in the United States Army. Mr. Leggett was a member of St. Matthews Free Methodist Church, Starke, under the leadership of Pastor Isaih Jenkins. He had been employed with Skyline Manufacturing, Ocala, as head custodian.
The viewing will be Friday, July 31, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Haile Funeral Home, 802 N. Oak St., Starke. The cortege will form Saturday, Aug. 1, at 10:30 a.m. at the Eric Lane residence, 6504 N.W. C.R. 229, Starke 32091. Services will be Saturday, Aug. 1, beginning at 11 a.m. at New Bethel Baptist, Starke. Services will be officiated by Pastor Isaih Jenkins. Interment will be at Bob Love Cemetery, Starke (Pleasant Grove Community).

Gregory Nichols
Gregory Ray Nichols was born to William and Myrtice Nichols on Sept. 18, 1951, in Cleveland, Ohio. He passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, surrounded by his wife of 34 years, Marlene; stepdaughter, Marci, his close friend, Thomas Lawhun; and brother, Michael. Gregory was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janet Carter; and brother, Philip Nichols.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene; stepson, Jess (Dana) McSwain of Kingsley Lake; stepdaughter, Marci (Earl) Glisson of St. Augustine; as well as his oldest sister, Patsy Lawson of Starke; his brother, Michael Nichols of Scottsdale, Arizona; and youngest sister, Colleen Brannen and brother-in-law Mitch of Lake Butler; brother-in- law, Donald Carter of Kingsley Lake; sisters-in-law, Susan Nichols of Starke and Kay Nichols of Oak Island, North Carolina. Other survivors are his eight grandchildren, Shawn (Brittany) Glisson, Stacey (Luke) Taylor, Matthew (Megan) Brown, Ryan McSwain, Chase (Elissa) Glisson, Fairyn McSwain, Brianna (Tod) Fooshee, and Brayden (Layna) McSwain; 21 great-grandchildren, Logan, Asher, Gavin, Dayton, Cali, Everly, Joc, London, Luna, Scottlynn, Scout, Mattix, Mason, Madilynn, Mackenlee, Haven, Emery, Easton, Eisley, Kaius and Haidyn;, as well as two great- great-grandsons, Uriah and Roman, all of whom he cherished and adored. To his grandchildren he was simply known as” Papa G.”
As a young child, Gregory moved with his family to Starke, close to the small town of Brooker, which was his mother’s childhood hometown. He attended Bradford County schools and graduated from Bradford County High School in 1969. He went on to attend college at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa. From there he attended Sante Fe College in Gainesville to gain his police standards. In 1981, he began his career as a deputy with the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office, and, in 1982, he began employment as a Lieutenant with City of Starke Police Department until 1987. He resigned from there and became an investigator with the Public Defender’s Office in Bradford County until 1990. After a break in law enforcement and relocation to St. Augustine in 1997, he again joined law enforcement with the campus police department at the School for the Deaf and Blind in 1999. From there he gained employment with the City of St. Augustine Police Department under the leadership of Chief Lauren Leuders, where he continued in law enforcement until retirement in 2014. After his retirement. he remained active and volunteered at St. Gerard Campus as the driver for the students. He then began working part time at the AMP supporting special events and concerts. He enjoyed chasing that little white ball that most call playing golf and, before his illness, he had become interested in pickle ball. In October 2025 he had to leave his position at the AMP when he became ill and was diagnosed with multiple myeloma and end- stage kidney failure.
During his tenure at each location and facility, Gregory gained many acquaintances and friends. And as many of you know, he did that easily with his easy-going personality, wit, humor and many of his “Nichols” sayings and stories. He loved the mountains and fortunately in May of this year, he was able to travel with his family to Whitefish, Montana and to visit Glacier National Park, which is a place that he had always wanted to visit. In lieu of flowers, Greg would be grateful that donations be made to St. Jude in his honor.

Joseph Stuckey
Joseph Herbert “Herb” Stucky, 79, of Keystone Heights died Monday, July 27, 2026, at home from mesothelioma. He was a member of Cross Church and a Navy veteran. Prior to retirement, he worked for 20 years as the minister of music at First Baptist Church of Starke.
Survivors are his wife, Sharon (Mohr) Stucky; children, Cheryl Jacques, Brenda (William) Nettles, Matthew (Kim) Stucky, and Jennifer Stucky; and extended family.
A Celebration of Life will be at Cross Church on Saturday, Aug. 15, at 11 a.m. with a family visitation from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Interment will be private at Crosby Lake Cemetery.
