Linda Shadd Buchtmann

Linda Shadd Buchtmann, 78, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2026, in Perry at her home after a short illness. Linda was born Nov. 4, 1947. She was preceded in death by her brother, Allison Shadd; and sister, Mary Shadd Archer.

Linda is survived by her husband of 34 years, William Buchtmann; brother, Edward of Raiford; sister, Audrey (Jerry) Wilson of Lake Butler; sons, John Mark Mazzola of Jacksonville and Steve Timothy Mazzola of Perry; daughter, Reva Shayne (Darren) Bass of Greenville; grandchildren, Taylor Mazzola, Bethany Parker, Daniel Bass, Matthew Bass, Ashlynne Hendrix, and Emma Greene; great-grandchildren, Landon Gilliam, Brynnleigh Gilliam, and Makenna Parker; along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Lola Martin

Lola Helen Gregory Martin, 84, of Starke died at Windsor Manor Nursing Home on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents:  husband, Billy Sheldon Martin; and daughter, Lisa Diane Evans.

Survivors are children, John Doward and Camilla Evans III, Robert Allen and Julie Martin, Ronda Karen Martin, Randall Sheldon and Kim Martin; and extended family.

A private burial will take place at Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Lynn Perryman

Mrs. Lynn Ann Perryman, 71, of Melrose passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2026, at her home after an extended illness. She was born on Oct. 20, 1954, to C.H. and Rachel (Godbey) Cozart and dedicated her life to her family and work. Lynn retired as an accounting clerk with Clay Electric Cooperative for many years, where she was known for her diligence and attention to detail. She was a member of Community Church of Keystone and enjoyed reading and traveling. But most of all, she loved being with her family, friends, and mostly her granddaughters. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her siblings, Gwynn Dewillis and Michael Cozart.

Her survivors are her loving and devoted husband of 51 years, Mark Perryman; and their two sons, Bryan (Bethany) Perryman of Atlanta and Jason (Ashley) Perryman; along with her sisters, Vicki Black and Debbie Whitley, all of Orlando. She was lovingly called “Grammy” by Abigail and Elizabeth Perryman.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, with Pastor Steven Klinger officiating. Interment will be at Jacksonville National Cemetery. Glenda Shanley

Glenda Shanley

Mrs. Glenda Crosby Shanley, of Starke passed away peacefully at her home Friday, June 26, 2026, at the age of 91. Born Aug. 27, 1934, in Starke to the late Ruby and Effie (Edmonson) Crosby. Glenda spent her life in the town she loved and cherished deeply. She dedicated many years of her life to working in the produce department of a Publix warehouse, where her warm smile and kindness made an impact on everyone she met. She took great pride in her work and enjoyed the camaraderie of her colleagues. Beyond her career, she found her greatest joy in the company of her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, William Shanley in 2024.

She is survived by her daughters, Marcia Sentmanat of Starke, Kathy Shanley of Miami and Patricia Shanley of Palm Coast; her cherished six grandchildren, Herb (Diana) Williams, Tony (Becky) DeLapaz, Tori (Wayne) Ivey, Amber (Jimbo) Blake, Christine Quigley, and Eric Elmadani. Also left are numerous great grandchildren who were her pride and joy. The love she shared with her family was evident, and her memory will live on through them.

Graveside funeral services will take place on Friday, July 3, at 10 a.m. at Crosby Lake Cemetery. Pastor Steve Conner will officiate. Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate her life and the memories she created.

Phillip Smith

Phillip “Phil” Ray Smith, 67, of Starke died Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Haven Hospice E.T. York Care Center in Gainesville.  He was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on May 4, 1959. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother.

He is survived by his wife, Shelley S. Smith; children, Andrew Chapman and Jessica (Jay) Lauro; one brother; one sister; and numerous extended family members.

A Celebration of Life was held Monday, June 29, at Archie Tanner Memorial Chapel. His family will have a private family committal service and interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Bradford County.
