Union’s Riley Gibson (far left) earned a second-place finish at the inaugural Rural Classification State Championship Invitational, which was held Jan. 11 at Wewahitchka High School.Union’s Alexia Cyr (far right) placed third at the event, which was created by Gulf County Schools Athletic Director/Wewahitchka Coach Bobby Johns. Johns created the event in hopes of convincing the Florida High School Athletic Association that other sports besides football deserve to have a Rural Classification.
