KEYSTONE HEIGHTS—The developers of Popeye’s Fried Chicken in Keystone Heights have poured the foundation for the new eatery and are erecting framing for the building between the town’s Walgreens and Dollar General on Green Way.
City Manager Lynn Rutkowski told the city council during the council’s April 3 meeting that she has read misinformation on word-of-mouth Facebook pages that the project is a Publix Supermarket or a Buc-ee’s travel center.
Rutkowski also told the council that the residential development: Country Meadows, underway at the corner of Sunrise Boulevard and Paradise Point Drive, has been sold to Clay County contractor Joe Wiggins.
The Green Cove Springs attorney also owns 48+ acres north of Commercial Circle and Fox Run. He previously told the council he wanted to develop the acreage behind American Legion Post 202 on State Road 21 into a mixed-use property.
