STARKE— A Starke man was sentenced to five years’ probation after pleading to battering a woman after they argued over a television show.

Brison Ellis Bynum, 23, was arrested by Bradford deputies on Jan. 27 for aggravated battery on a pregnant person.

In July, he pleaded to that charge and domestic battery by strangulation.

According to an arrest report, the defendant told a deputy that he and the victim got into an argument over a television show and that the victim left their mobile home without shoes or socks. Bynum added that he went outside to bring the victim back indoors.

A witness told the officer that he heard a woman screaming, “Help, please stop.”

The neighbor added that he saw a black male dragging a woman by her hair into the back door of a trailer. The witness then called 911.

The victim told Deputy Trinton Lovell that the defendant struck her in the face, headbutted her in the face, and dragged her into the residence by her hair.

Bynum admitted to Lovell that he knew the victim was pregnant.

The defendant was also ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation and a battery intervention class.
