“When (the witness) tried to help (the victim) Anthony made her leave and told her he had a .38 pistol,” wrote arresting officer Charles W. Townsend. “Three older cousins stopped by the house early afternoon.  Anthony refused to let them into the house and displayed the .38 pistol. (The cousins) said Anthony even threatened to shoot them if they came back.”

A witness told Townsend that the victim needs full-time care because of his medical condition, adding the elderly man cannot move, eat or bathe without assistance.

The witness added that when she questioned the defendant about the victim’s care, Vinci responded, “I’m going to leave him at home. He’s coming home to die.”

When the witness responded: “You just can’t leave him alone to care for himself, that’s cruel,” the defendant responded, “That’s life. It happens in third-world countries every day, especially India.”
