Michael Glover, 18, of Hampton, was arrested by Bradford deputies on March 18 for dealing in stolen property and larceny.
According to the arrest report, a sheriff’s deputy responded to Walmart after staff reported Glover, who was employed there, had taken merchandise without paying. Video surveillance showed Glover walking out of the store past all points of sale with a PS5 console and a plush toy without purchasing either item. Walmart staff told the deputy Glover was terminated following the incident.
In a written statement, Glover said he needed money to buy cat litter, cat food and to pay his phone bill. He later told the deputy, after being read his Miranda rights, that he had walked to a nearby antique store and sold the PS5 for $250. The console carried a retail value of $449, and the plush toy was valued at $29.97.
