LAKE BUTLER— The City of Raiford held its annual Breakfast with Santa event last Saturday, Dec. 9 at the Raiford Community Center. Mayor Lamar Griffis and his wife, Councilwoman Bonita Griffis staffed the serving line, filling plates with freshly made pancakes and sausage links. The grown-ups seemed to enjoy their breakfast, but the youngsters all seemed too excited to eat as they eyed the line to sit on Santa’s lap and get a bag of candy and a gift – selected for them by several elves on site to assist Santa. A long table filled with gifts supplied the elves with plenty to choose from.
This event is a tradition in Raiford and is paid for by the commission, with city funds, as well as donations from the community. In total, more than 100 people attended the event, and everyone who came to see the “Jolly Old Elf” got their wish. With less than two weeks until Christmas, it was a great start to the holiday spirit in Raiford.
