School Board recognizes service and achievement in students and staff

LAKE BUTLER— At its regular Aug. meeting the Union County School Board recognized one staff member for service and four UCHS FFA Teams for their achievements.

First, Superintendent of Schools Mike Ripplinger recognized Stacey Rimes for her 30 years of service to the school district.

The remainder of the recognitions were for the achievements of the 2022 UCHS FFA teams at state competition.

Honored were the Horse Judging Team and one of its members, Cailynn Boggs, who scored as high individual.  The team won the state competition in their area and will proceed to National competition in October.  Members of the team are Cailynn Boggs, Kaylynn Goldie, Ryleigh Rhoden, Madison Starling, Krista Young and Michael Young.  Also winning at the state level was the Food Science Team (Maegan Beatty, Kindall Johnson, Laura Park and Hannah Sherrod, who will also advance to the October Nationals.

Stacey Rimes was honored at the August meeting of the Union Countu School Board for her 30 years of service to the district. She is seem her with UC Superintendent of Schools Mike Ripplinger, who presented her with the award.

Team member Ella Dicks was high individual in Agricultural Sales and Services, while the team took top state honors and will travel to Nationals as well.  Members of the team are: Cailynn Boggs, Ells Dicks, Grant Dicks, Lily French and Reagan Robinson.

Last to be recognized were the members of the Poultry Evaluation Team for taking state honors.  Team members are: Darby Andrews, Maegan Beatty, Kyla Boney, Jackson Crook, Perry Johnson, Laura Park and Reagan Robinson.

Everyone recognized received a plaque commemorating their achievement from Ripplinger.
