A semi-truck overturned in Keystone Heights on South Lawrence Boulevard Saturday morning, causing significant damage to a city fence and spilling cases of bottled water. The incident resulted in several hours of road closures.

The April 19 traffic crash occurred at 5:45 a.m.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the truck driver was speeding around a corner on the state highway when cases of water shifted, causing him to lose control of the semi, crash into a tree, and overturn.

A substantial portion of the city’s fencing around the park was destroyed.

Currently, there is no damage to the bathrooms at the beach park.

“I am very thankful that no one was injured in this accident,” said Keystone Heights Mayor Nina Rodenroth.  “We will have to review our options for securing the park until the fence is replaced.”

No one was injured in the crash.
