Soil To Supper: Learn how to grow your own food

A series of free workshops will help you grow food at home.

The Bradford County Department of Health in partnership with the Healthy Communities of Florida, UF/IFAS Bradford County Extension Office and the Alligator Creek Garden Club will be hosting a weekly series of free educational classes for all residents to attend.

These workshops will help participants be able to grow their own vegetables from a third-story balcony or the backyard to help promote healthy eating, active living and lasting wellness. Participants will be able to take home and grow their own vegetables at no cost.

The first meeting will be on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m. at the Bradford Senior Center at 1805 N. Temple Ave. in Starke. All residents are welcome to join. For any questions, contact Luke Harlow at the Bradford County Extension office at 904-966-6299.
