A 49-year-old Starke woman was sentenced to two years after pleading to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
According to court papers, witnesses told Bradford deputies that on February 18, Tracy Nicole “Spanky” Bryant of Starke’s Old Lawtey Road, visited the victim’s North Oak Street residence and the two began to argue.
“During the physical altercation,” wrote Deputy Devin K. Jones, “Tracy stabbed (the victim) in the top of her head with a silver pocketknife.”
Jones added that the victim’s mother took her daughter to HCA Starke ER for treatment and called law enforcement.
“(The victim) sustained an approximately 6 cm stab wound to the top of her head,” wrote Jones, “a scratch on her upper back about six inches long, an approximately four inch scratch on the forehead, approximately one inch scratch on eyelid, approximately two inch scratch on nose, approximately three inch scratch on right facial cheek, (on her) right forearm (was an) approximately six inches long (scratch). (The victim) had to have staples for the stab wound on her head.”
Other officers found Bryant at a nearby Circle K and took her into custody.
Bryant told deputies that the victim attacked her and that she did not fight back.
The defendant’s prior convictions include child abuse, driving without a valid license, felony petit theft, robbery, burglary, battery, and grand theft.
