STARKE— The Florida Highway Patrol said a Starke Police Department Ford F-150 crashed into a ditch north of Sanderson after a deer crossed into the path of the vehicle.
An FHP spokesperson said the northbound driver tried to avoid the animal by steering left, departed from the roadway and crashed into a culvert. The driver sustained minor injuries.
The accident occurred early Monday morning, April 4 on County Road 127 in Baker County near Tony Givens Road. The area is about one-half mile north of Interstate 10.
