The Florida Department of Revenue had filed tax warrants for two people who operated businesses in Bradford County and who, according to the state agency, failed to forward sales taxes they collected from customers.
The department said Michael Lorenzo Miller of 1601 N. Temple Avenue owes the state $15,758.44 in taxes, penalties, interest, and costs. The current business at the address is a vape shop. However, it is unclear whether that business is associated with Miller.
Richard Edmond Cates at 22828 U.S. Highway 301 was cited for $2,897.25 in taxes, penalties, interests, and costs. The building the Department of Revenue lists as Cates’s address is abandoned, on Lawtey’s main thoroughfare between Lawtey Shell and the Subway sandwich shop.
