KEYSTONE HEIGHTS —During its April 4 meeting the   city council approved two events for the beach pavilion and park and another on South Lawrence Street.

Keith Hatch of Center Cross Ministries told the council that the ministry’s tent revival near Hatch Realty Services from May 16 through May 19 will be a repeat of last year’s event in which 13 people were baptized.

He added that parking will be at Community Church and the event will provide a golfcart shuttle between parking and the event.

Nina Rodenroth, chair of the city’s Heritage Commission said her group is hosting a walking tour of 20 Keystone Heights historic homes the Saturday before Mother’s Day. The tour will begin at the beach pavilion and the first 50 mothers in attendance will receive a rose and a dessert.

Participants will be given a flyer which will guide them on the self-directed tour. Each home will also have a sign that matches entries on the flyer. The event begins at 10 a.m.

Rodenroth added that the owners of two properties have recently applied for a historic plaque: a Southwest Jasmine Avenue home owned by Eddie Arnold and the Hatch Realty Services building on South Lawrence Boulevard.

Vice Mayor Steve Hart said that the community band’s return to the beach will be the first time in two years the group has performed there.

The one-hour, Lake Region Kiwanis-sponsored concert will be on June 4 around noon.
