Whether a graduating senior in the Class of 2023 or a first day kindergartener, the first day of school for Bradford County students is on the horizon. The first day of the 2022-2023 school year is Wednesday, Aug. 10.
Schedules for open house/orientation events
—Bradford Middle School, Thursday, Aug. 4, at 4 p.m. 6th grade orientation; 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. open house.
—All elementary schools, Friday, Aug. 5, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
—Bradford High School, Monday, Aug. 8, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
Kindergarten staggered start
To support the transition for kindergarteners, Bradford’s elementary schools incorporate a staggered start for new kindergarteners. This means the first day for some kindergarteners will be Aug. 11 rather than Aug. 10.
Staggered start allows students to have an opportunity to explore the classroom, interact with their teacher, and practice new routines in a smaller group setting.
The first day for new kindergarteners with the last name beginning with letters A through L is Aug. 10. They will not attend on Aug. 11, but return full speed ahead beginning Aug. 12.
The first day for new kindergarteners with the last name beginning with letters M through Z is Aug. 11. They will not attend on Aug. 10, but will join their other classmates on Friday, Aug. 12 when all will attend.
First day information for elementary parents
Kindergarten parents only may walk their students to class. Breakfast is available, however, parents must remain outside of the cafeteria and wait for their child to exit. Parents may meet their teacher at the classroom door at 7:35 a.m. Parents will not be permitted to go into classrooms.

Enrollment
If you have not yet enrolled your student, schools are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Come early! Help your student launch their year with perfect attendance from day one.
