Keystone Heights High School’s track and field teams competed at the Santa Fe Raiders Mini Meet 2 on March 21, with boys team member Ryder Thomas and girls team member Olivia Griffin earning second- and fifth-place finishes, respectively.
Thomas was behind only Buchholz’s Luke Geltner in the 1600m, crossing the line in 4:29.29. Geltner had a time of 4:48.68.
The boys team had two other top-10 finishers in Luke Lewis, who had a ninth-place distance of 102-1.5 in the javelin, and Jaden Park, who had a 10th-place distance of 36-11 in the triple jump.
Other boys results were: 100m — Park 12.2, Jamari Turner 12.43, Tyler Griffin 12.48, Tyler Sapp 12.73, Ryeland Wahl 12.81; 200m — Josiah Durrenberger 25.66, Sapp 26.04, Turner 26.15, Lewis 29.11; 400m — Griffin 56.11, Wahl 57.18, Durrenberger 57.2, De’Shawn Williams 1:05, Carter Andrews 1:17; 800m — Hunter Sheppard 2:18, Jason Parales 2:30; 1600m — Parker Pescara 6:03; triple jump — Turner 35-10.75; javelin — Ricardo Rosario 72-11.25, Pescara 43-5.75; and shot put — Rosario 30-1.75.
Olivia Griffin was one of two girls team members to place in the top 10, running a fifth-place time of 1:03 in the 400m. Zoey Gill had a 10th-place distance of 60-11.5 in the javelin.
Keystone also had the following girls results: 100m — Kaylee Park 13.86, Christine Djavaheri 14.19, Laila Briseno 14.92, Cali Chamberlain 14.98, Kenslee Phillips 15.41, Jasmine Walls 16.67; 200m — Griffin 28.31, Park 28.83, Brook Graudons 33.57, Walls 35.07; and 400m — Chamberlain 1:10, Djavaheri 1:10, Phillips 1:11, Briseno 1:14, Graudons 1:18.
