Robby Pruitt, back at Union County for the first time since 1999, walked the Lake Butler Rotary Club through his history here Tuesday.
Pruitt coached the Tigers from 1993 to 1999, winning three football state championships. During that same period, Union County claimed two state track titles, finished state runner-up in baseball and reached the final four in basketball, largely with the same athletes.
His teams won 52 straight games, a Florida record.
Introducing him, Carlton Faulk said Pruitt is the only coach in the nation with 200 wins in Florida and 200 in Georgia. He has since coached at Fitzgerald and Coffee County in Georgia and most recently in Williston.
