Blake Agner and Erick Lasseter each hit a two-run single, while pitchers Ethan Moody and Clayton Poppell combined to give up three hits as the Union County High School baseball team concluded the regular season with a 10-0, six-inning win over visiting Trinity Catholic on April 27.
Trinity Catholic entered the game ranked 19th in the Florida High School Athletic Association’s power poll. Union is ranked second in 1A.
The Tigers (16-7) scored all the runs they’d need in the first inning. Lasseter hit a single that scored Ayden Elixson, who doubled, and Tre’Von Lee, who walked. Preston Bonsall and Agner hit back-to-back singles, with Agner’s hit driving in a run and putting Union up 3-0.
Tucker Hardee had an RBI single in the second. The Tigers then pushed another three runs across in the third to go up 7-0. Agner hit a single that scored Lasseter, who singled, and Bonsall, who was hit by a pitch. Bryson Huggins drove in the inning’s third run on a sacrifice bunt.
Lee and Devin Diggs each drove in a run as part of a three-run sixth — Lee on a single and Diggs on a ground out. Lee scored the game’s final run on a passed ball.
Agner and Elixson each went 2 for 2, while Lasseter went 2 for 3.
Moody started on the mound, giving up three hits in five innings. Poppell allowed no hits in the final inning, striking out one of the three batters he faced.

Hardee had the Tigers’ only hit against pitcher Colson Altman.
Union starter Diggs gave up three runs (two earned) and two hits in three innings. Lee allowed one hit in three innings.
