Union County High School, the 10th-ranked volleyball team in Class 1A, swept host Bell by scores of 25-15, 25-20 and 25-20 in the semifinals of the District 6 tournament on Oct. 18 and will next play for the championship on Thursday, Oct. 20, at Bell High School at 7 p.m.
The Tigers, who are the tournament’s second seed, will play either top-seed Branford or fifth-seed Lafayette.
Union (17-7) entered the tournament off two straight losses, falling 3-1 (23-25, 25-11, 25-17, 25-19) to visiting Williston on Oct. 11 before dropping a 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-20) match to host Keystone Heights on Oct. 13.
