Caleb Zapp finished four strokes behind the medalist as the Union County High School golf team placed third against Chiefland and Branford in a home match on Aug. 29.
Chiefland finished with a score of 187 to finish ahead of Branford (209) and Union (244).
Zapp, who made par on two holes, and Chiefland’s Jarrett Darus each shot a 45, tying for second behind Branford’s Gavin Barnes.
The Tigers’ Caleb Ripplinger (64), Jordan Seay (67), Patrick Maxwell (68), Braden Adams (72) and Eli Elixson (79) placed 13th-17th.
Union hosts Bradford and Lafayette at Lake City’s Quail Heights Country Club this on Tuesday, Aug. 30, at 3:30 p.m. and will travel to Madison Golf and Country Club to play Madison County and Lafayette on Thursday, Sept. 1, at 3:30 p.m. Union will host Taylor County on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 3:30 p.m.
