Tornadoes place 6th at state cheer meet

Bradford High School’s competitive cheer team placed sixth in Medium Non-Tumbling at the Jan. 23 Class 1A Florida High School Athletic Association Championships in Lakeland.

The Tornadoes, who completed their fourth year in competitive cheer, have qualified for state every year. They earned a third-place finish at the 2025 state finals.

At this year’s event, Bradford had scores of 28.9 in building, 27.9 in cheer and 18.3 in overall, resulting in a raw score of 75.10. The Tornadoes’ final score, after the deduction of penalty points, was 72.60.

West Nassau won the state championship with a score of 87.10.

Bradford earned its way to state with a third-place finish at the Region 1 meet. The Tornadoes, who finished behind champion Baldwin and runner-up Flagler Palm Coast, had a raw score of 79.10 (31 building, 30.6 cheer, 17.5 overall) and a final score of 77.10.
