Cole Andersen-Davis went 7-of-11 from the field, but his teammates were a combined 9-of-47 in the Union County High School boys basketball team’s 76-55 loss to visiting Hilliard on Dec. 10.
Andersen-Davis led the Tigers (2-2) with 19 points as well as grabbing a team-high six rebounds. Curran Webb and Thomas Williams each had 10 points, while Dee Williams had six.
Tahj Merriex and Quinten Rawls each dished out a team-high three assists, while Merriex also led the team in steals with three.
Rawls finished with three points, while Kyler Cohen, Gavin Jenkins and Johnté Nichols each had two. Merriex added one point.
The Tigers went 1-1 in the two games prior to playing Hilliard, with host Trenton handing them their first loss by a score of 60-44 on Dec. 6.
Dee Williams and Thomas Williams scored 12 and nine points, respectively, with Dee Williams adding three assists and Thomas Williams grabbing four rebounds.
Rawls had eight points, four rebounds and three assists, while Andersen-Davis and Merriex scored five and four points, respectively. Nichols and Jenkins added three and two points, respectively, while Dayviontae Thompson scored one.
Andersen-Davis posted a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds in Union’s 52-29 win over visiting Lafayette on Dec. 9.
Rawls scored 10 points and had six rebounds, three assists and three steals. Cohen, Merriex and Dee Williams each scored six points, with Cohen adding three assists and three steals. Nichols had five points, while Tre’von Lee added one.
Webb grabbed six rebounds.
The Tigers play at Baldwin on Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m. before participating in a tournament at Fernandina Beach that has Union’s first game occurring on Thursday, Dec. 16, against San Jose Prep at 7:30 p.m.
Following the tournament, Union plays its last game before the Christmas break, traveling for a game against Keystone Heights on Monday, Dec. 20, at 7:30 p.m.
