Katelyn Seay earned medalist honors for the second straight match as the Union County High School girls golf team defeated Trenton on Aug. 25 at Lake City’s Quail Heights Country Club.
The Tigers had a team score of 237 to Trenton’s 265.
Seay finished with a score of 52, while Kerissa Seay was second at 61.
The Tigers’ Sierra Bell and Sophia Elixson each shot a third-place score of 62. Bell made par on one hole.
Summer Shaw also participated for Union, finishing with a score of 77.
The Union boys team dropped a match against Taylor County on Aug. 18 at the Country Club at Lake City. The Tigers, who shot a team score of 242 to Taylor’s 207, were led by Gavin Kuhn, who placed second with a score of 53.
Brysen Tomlinson, who made par on one hole, had a sixth-place score of 60 for the Tigers, while Ayden Tomlinson and Emery Muse were seventh and eighth, respectively, with scores of 63 and 66.
Union also got a 79 from Fenix Norman.
Both boys and girls teams play Chiefland on Tuesday, Aug. 26, at the Country Club at Lake City at 3:30 p.m. and will play Bronson and Chiefland on Thursday, Aug. 28, at the Chiefland Golf and Country Club at 3:30 p.m.
The girls team will play Branford on Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Lake City’s Quail Heights Country Club at 3:30 p.m.
