Union County High School’s Zoe Elixson earned the right to compete at regionals after her performance at the District 3-1A tournament on Oct. 29 at Tallahassee’s Capital City Country Club.
The top two individuals not on the first- and second-place teams, which were Maclay and Florida High, qualified for the Region 1 meet, which will be held Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Tallahassee’s Golden Eagle Country Club. Elixson earned the second individual spot, shooting an 18-hole score of 105, which placed her 10th overall. She made par on three holes.
This will be Elixson’s third straight year competing at the regional level.
As a team, the UCHS girls placed fourth with a score of 497.
Kerissa Seay was 16th with a score of 124, while Madison Starling finished in a two-way tie for 18th with a score of 132.
Katelyn Seay shot a 136 and finished in a two-way tie for 22nd.
In the boys tournament, Union’s three players were led by Patrick Maxwell, who was 45th. Gavin Kuhn and Brysen Tomlinson were 48th and 50th, respectively.
