Union County High School’s softball team scored 29 runs in its last four games, but the bats were mostly silent in a 6-0 loss to second seed Branford in the semifinals of the District 6-Rural tournament on April 29 in Branford.
The third seed Tigers (15-8) had just four hits. Leanne Dicks had two of them in three at-bats.
Branford (18-6) scored its first five runs in the second inning, taking advantage of three hits, two errors, a walk and a sacrifice fly.
