All five head-to-head matches went the way of Union County High School, which defeated visiting West Nassau 59-12 in the Tigers’ final wrestling match of the regular season.

Jonathan Howard recorded a 16-0 technical-fall win over his opponent, while four of his teammates won by pinning their opponents. Three of those wrestlers earned their wins in the second period of their matches. Gavin Sparkman and Dylan Lane pinned their opponents in 2:23 and 2:52, respectively, while Clifton Ivey recorded a pin in 3:20.

Maddox Wheeler trailed 5-0 entering the second period and was down 9-5 entering the third period. He rallied and pinned his opponent in 4:51.

Rodney Barnett, Elijah Roberts, Ashton Newsom, Michael Hill and Brian Sparkman were awarded victories due to West Nassau forfeiting weight classes.

The Tigers forfeited two weight classes, while another two classes were double forfeits.
