Union County’s Zoey Marshall and Amia Bethea, as part of the AAU track and field team Athletics Academy of Citra, earned wins at the Feb. 3 352 Elite Brooksville Classic at Hernando High School.

Marshall, who competes in the 11-12 age group, took first in three events. She ran times of 1:04 and 2:50 to win the 400m and 800m and also jumped a distance of 4.29 meters in the long jump.

Bethea, who competes in the 15-18 age group, won the 100m with a time of 12.48 seconds. That’s better than the school record at Union County High School, where she’s a sophomore and also runs track.

It was the first of two personal-record times for Bethea, who was the runner-up in the 200m at 26.22.
