Union County High School outscored host Hope Christian 26-6 in the third quarter en route to a 45-30 girls basketball win on Jan. 8.
Iamorieah Williams poured in 21 points as the Tigers (1-10) earned their first win. Union also got nine points from Latoya Hampton, seven from Tessa Warren, four from Aundria Phipps and two each from Ambrielle Holder and Brianna Taylor.
Williams finished with a double-double, adding 11 rebounds to her scoring total.
Hampton led the Tigers in rebounds with 12, while Phipps and Warren had eight and seven, respectively. Brooke Hunt grabbed six rebounds.
Phipps and Williams each had seven steals, while Union also got six from Warren, five from Hampton, four from Hunt and two each from Holder and Melinda Mabrey.
Hope (1-7) was led in scoring by Addyson Williams, who had 11 points. The Lions also got six points from Ashlyn Crews, four each from Morgan Cass and Mackenzie McRaney, two each from Maddie McCloud and Lesly Salvidrez and one from Allyssa Wilson.
The Lions earned their first win on with a 35-21 defeat of host Gainesville Christian Community. Crews scored 15 points, while Hope also got seven from Addyson Wilson, six from Salvidrez, four from McRaney and three from McCloud.
Wilson added seven rebounds, six blocked shots and five steals to her totals.
Crews had five steals as well.
The Tigers travel to play West Nassau on Friday, Jan. 16, at 7 p.m. and host Clay on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 6 p.m. Union hosts Saint Francis on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 6 p.m.
Hope hosts First Coast Christian on Friday, Jan. 16, at 5 p.m.
