He praised the men and women from all parts of the country who have chosen to serve in the US armed forces.
Ripplinger thanked veterans for “Standing between us and those who wish to bring harm to America.” Ripplinger closed his welcome with the hope that veterans are always properly honored and understand how much they are appreciated.

He mentioned the origin of Veterans day, first organized as Armistice Day on Nov 11, 1919. This date recognizes the first anniversary of the end of the First World War. In 1926, Congress passed a resolution for an annual observance and Nov 11 became a national holiday beginning in 1938. He said the for 245 years Americans have fought to stop tyranny and fascism, imperialistic empires, communist aggression and religious zealots around the world.
“A force that is capable of great destruction is also capable of great compassion,” Parrish said. “Veterans have brought strength and justice against our enemies. The same people help bring compassion, comfort and aid to those in need. Who are these people? Veterans! These men and women deserve our respect and admiration.”
