Love was in the air this past weekend, with four events occurring in the Keystone Heights and Melrose communities. There was something for everyone celebrating Valentine’s Day.
On Friday, February 14th, the Mission of the Dirt Road kicked off their “Valentine’s Celebration” at noon, enjoying snacks, drinks, and holiday desserts with community members, making everyone feel loved and special.
The Dirty Pallet hosted “Killer Date Night.” Although most attendees were single, the event was open to anyone who wanted to join.
Each participant was tasked with painting a character from Jason or Scream and a love-themed saying beside it. Everyone had a great time creating their spooky Valentine’s artwork.
Mossman Hall in Melrose hosted a “Valentine’s Dinner and Dancing Date Night Fundraiser” event featuring dinner, dancing, and music. The dinner menu included chicken, pulled pork, brisket, sweet potatoes, coleslaw, mac and cheese, cornbread, and desserts.
Square dancing followed, and several groups joined to learn this energetic dance style. The band Mason Via and The Sandhill Cranes String Band provided the music. Around 50 people attended, raising approximately $750.
“Mossman Hall’s first post-purchase fundraiser, Valentine’s Day Dinner & Dance Date Night, was a huge success,” said Amy Stanley, President of Mossman Home Preservation Foundation, Inc. She also thanks the co-chairs and the team.
On Saturday, February 15th, the Keystone Heights Woman’s Club hosted a “Paint Your Partner Date Night.” Seven couples were tasked with painting each other. The reveal was quite hysterical.
“It was so much fun. I don’t think I’ve laughed this hard in a long time. Great time, great food,” said Josh and Cristen Beck.
“It was fun. We had a good time. Good bonding experience,” said Deidra and Dale Trimble.
