STARKE— Bradford deputies arrested a 46-year-old Keystone Heights woman after family members accused her of fraud.
Christy Renee Jones was arrested on December 24 for the June 2023 offenses of illegal use of credit cards.
According to a warrant affidavit, the defendant’s 66-year-old aunt told deputies she gave Jones her bank card “to go up to the nearby store to purchase a few things.”
However, the aunt and her husband later discovered that Jones had also used their card to make two buys at Bealls for $134 and a purchase from Verizon prepaid for $257.
Deputy Savannah Duncan wrote in the affidavit that she contacted a local Verizon retailer four times in attempts to obtain a video of the transaction, but the dealer was unable to produce the recordings.
Duncan also reported that she tried to talk to the defendant at her Speedville-area residence. However, Jones was not home when the deputy tried to make contact.
