Keystone Heights High School opened the boys soccer season by scoring four second-half goals in defeating host Palatka 5-1 on Nov. 13.
Aaron Wiley had three of those goals, while Luke Brunt and Bryce Huntley each had one. Brunt’s goal came off a penalty kick.
Brunt led the team in assists with two. Jacob Stahman and Sammy Wacha each had one.
It was also a successful debut for the junior varsity team, which defeated Palatka 8-0. Ryder Thomas and Kipton Spence scored three and two goals, respectively, while the following had one goal each: Malachi Mayo, Trenton Noble and Ryland Wahl.
Kipton also had two assists.
Both teams play at Fort White on Tuesday, Nov. 14, with the JV playing at 5 p.m. and the varsity playing at 7 p.m. The varsity team travels to play Branford on Friday, Nov. 17, at 6 p.m.
