Win streak comes to end for KHHS girls soccer team

Host Fernandina Beach put an end to the Keystone Heights High School girls soccer team’s four-match winning streak, defeating the Indians 6-1 on Dec. 6.

The Indians (7-3-1) had few scoring opportunities, with Halea Lam scoring the only goal. Fernandina, meanwhile, took 19 shots on goal and 31 shots overall.

Keystone goalie Whitnee Buchanan made six saves.

The Indians entered the match off a 1-0 win at Suwannee on Dec. 4. Tayler Buchanan scored the lone goal off a Lam assist.

Goalie Aspen Krohn made four saves.

Keystone travels to play Middleburg on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 7:20 p.m. and will travel to Jacksonville to play Trinity Christian on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 5:30 p.m. The Indians then travel to Ocala to play Trinity Catholic on Friday, Dec. 13, at 6 p.m.

On Monday, Dec. 16, Keystone travels to play District 4-3A opponent Interlachen at 5 p.m.
