STARKE— The Florida Highway Patrol said two people involved in a crash on State Road 100 west of Starke blamed each other for the incident.

According to an FHP report, a 65-year-old woman was walking along the highway around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19 when she was struck by an eastbound van.

The driver of the vehicle claimed the woman stepped into the eastbound lane before being struck.

However, the pedestrian said the van veered onto the shoulder of the highway before hitting her.

The collision occurred west of the Bradford County Animal Control Services facility, in the Crosby Lake area.

The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
