STARKE— On Thursday, July 7, a Bradford County jury awarded a Jacksonville woman $145,066.88 for a 2019 car crash.
Brandi Danyelle Alexander sued Santa Fe Overhead Door and Justin Neil Bear after the Jan. 28, 2019, collision in which Alexander sustained injuries.
In court papers, Alexander claimed that Bear, while driving his employer’s GMC pickup, rear-ended the plaintiff’s Toyota Corolla after Alexander slowed down for a construction zone on County Road 225.
In addition to the approximately $25,000 for past medical expenses and $120,000 for future medical costs, Alexander’s lawyers: Morgan and Morgan, also sought damages for pain and suffering, mental anguish, disability, physical impairment, inconvenience and loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life sustained. However, jurors found the plaintiff suffered no permanent injuries due to the crash and awarded no damages for those additional claims.
