UMATILLA— Offensive linemen Tyler Duncan, Luke Snider, Bo Overton, Jayden Goodman, Caleb Moncrief and Mason Dicks spearheaded a Keystone (4-0) running attack that racked up nine touchdowns and 545 rushing yards in the Indians’ 68-13 win over Umatilla (1-3) Friday night.
The Big Blue Wrecking Crew opened holes for Dalton Hollingsworth who scored four touchdowns and ran for 153 yards on 12 carries and Kade Sanders, who added a pair of TDs while piling up 235 yards on 13 carries.
Logan Williams, Jackson Williams and Tyler Jenkins also hit paydirt during the game, sending the Indians’ point production to 184 through their first four games, compared to their opponents’ 29 points.
Hollingsworth got the Indians on the board first with a 4-yard run early in the first quarter, giving Keystone an 8-0 lead after the two-point conversion.
The Indian defense then stifled Umatilla’s O on the ensuing drive, stopping the Bulldogs on a fourth-and-short from the Keystone 33.
From there Logan Williams, Hollingsworth and Jenkins combined for 67 yards on seven carries, capped with Hollingsworth’s 10-yard scoring run. A mishandled snap thwarted the two-point attempt, and Keystone settled for a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.
A three-and-out by the Indian defenders gave the Wrecking Crew the ball back on the Keystone 42 as the first quarter ended.
Sanders, Jenkins and Logan Williams combined for 58 yards in 10 plays, with a holding penalty the only blemish of the drive. Logan Williams completed the campaign with a 10-yard run and Hollingsworth added the 2-point conversion, giving the Indians a 22-0 lead.
On the ensuing kickoff, Umatilla’s Eli O’Brien broke right and sprinted down the sideline to the Keystone 20.
Following an Indian offsides penalty which advanced the ball to the Keystone 15, Umatilla’s Jeric Hutto reached the end zone with a run on the next play. However, Logan Williams split Umatilla’s end and tackle on the extra point attempt, breaking through and swatting down Kannon Steinke’s kick.
It only took four plays for Keystone to extend its 22-6 lead. Logan Williams and Sanders combined to take the ball from the Indian 45 to the Umatilla 38. Then Hollingsworth took a handoff, bounced off one Bulldog defender and sprinted the remaining 38 yards for his third touchdown of the night. Keystone led 30-6 after the successful 2-point try.
After the subsequent kickoff gave the Bulldogs a first-and-10 on their own 34, Umatilla quarterback Logan Bowling connected with Mekhi Benn for a touchdown toss-and-catch. Steinke’s extra point was true, and the Bulldogs closed Keystone’s lead to 30-13.
However, the Indians answered with a quick score of their own, with Sanders sprinting for a 46-yard gain, and then crossing the goal line with a 5-yard follow up. Hollingsworth tacked on 2-points and Keystone led 38-13.
The following Keystone kickoff went out of bounds, forcing the Indians to lineup for a second kickoff.
The Bulldogs mishandled the ensuing squibbler, and the Indians recovered the ball on the Bulldog 26.
From there, Hollingsworth broke off tackle and beat a Umatilla defender to the corner, resulting in his fourth touchdown of the night. The 2-point conversion failed, and Keystone led 44-13.
Umatilla appeared to threaten again, marching from its own 45 to the Keystone 20 with the first half coming to a close.
However, the Indian defense stiffened, and stopped the home team on a fourth-and-three from the 20.
On the next play, Sanders bolted 80 yards for his second touchdown of the night. Jenkins ran in for the 2-pointer, and Keystone took a 52-13 lead into intermission.
The Bulldogs fumbled another kickoff to begin the second half, and the Indian offense went to work from its own 41.
Sanders ran for three consecutive plays to the Bulldog 27, and Jenkins, Hollingsworth and Logan Willaims combined for runs to the 4. From there, Jenkins completed the drive with a scoring run, giving the visitors a 60-13 lead after the two-point conversion.
Jackson Willaims rounded out the third quarter and the scoring for the evening, breaking several tackles on a 19-yard touchdown run. Wyatt Van Zant added the two-point conversion, leading to the Indians’ 68-13 win.
The Indians return to the Lake Region tomorrow night with a 7:30 kickoff against the Interlachen Rams (0-3).
