Yara, Thomas lead Keystone boys and girls at Middleburg Bronco Classic

Keystone Heights High School was led by Noah Yara and Ryleigh Thomas at the Sept. 6 Middleburg Bronco Classic to open the cross-country season.

Yara placed 31st out of 214 in the varsity boys race. Teammate Ryder Thomas had a 43rd-place time of 18:48.

The Indians, who placed 15th out of 23 teams, also had the following results: Hunter Gray 21:00, Jason Parales 22:04, Gavin Morford 22:05, Eli Rabe 23:58 and Mason Gray 25:06.

Ryleigh Thomas had a time of 23:26, which placed her 49th out of 150 in the varsity girls race. Melody Tyre and Olivia Griffin placed 65th and 87th, respectively, with times of 24:16 and 25:36.

Bailee Morris and Clara Beth Robinson ran times of 28:45 and 31:55, respectively, for Keystone, which placed 11th out of 16 teams.

Four from Keystone participated in the junior varsity boys race, which consisted of 136 runners. Ryeland Wahl, who had a time of 21:53, and Alex Mahaffey, who had a time of 25:13, led the Indians with 40th- and 88th-place finishes, while Adam Bell and Oliver Miller had times of 27:03 and 28:10, respectively.

Keystone will host its second annual Indian Invite on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 7 a.m. at Trinity Youth Camp (7996 County Line Road, Melrose).
