Year in jail for stealing steaks

STARKE—A judge sentenced a Starke woman to one year in jail after she pleaded to stealing rib eyes, T-bones, and other merchandise from Starke’s Walmart.

Richardlyn Bobbie Jamison, 28, pleaded to felony petit theft.

According to court papers, a store loss prevention officer saw the defendant take the meat, valued at $89.25, in addition to Bic lighters, a tank top, and earbuds valued at $51.56 off store shelves. When confronted by the officer, the defendant abandoned the merchandise and fled in a car. Starke police located the vehicle and the defendant in the McDonald’s parking lot.
