Dezaray Bright scored 16 points and grabbed 18 rebounds for the Keystone Heights High School girls basketball team, which defeated host Lake Weir 48-32 on Jan. 7.
The Indians (13-2) entered the holiday break off their second loss of the season (50-21 to Rickards), but have won two straight since play resumed this month, with both victories coming against larger, Class 5A schools.
Lindsay Qualls and Madi Mitzel scored nine and eight points, respectively, against Lake Weir, while Yasmin Bryant had six. Kylie Channell had three points, while Jaynell Hill, Emma Rogel and Rachel Roth each added two.
Channell and Rogel each had nine rebounds, with Rogel also dishing out three assists and coming away with two steals. Qualls had five rebounds to go along with four assists and two steals.
Bright and Bryant had four and three steals, respectively, while Hill finished with three assists.
Keystone entered the game off a 54-30 win over visiting Middleburg on Jan. 6.
The Indians led by just four points at halftime, but outscored the Broncos 23-6 in the third quarter.
Rogel and Channell scored 16 and 13 points, respectively, while Bryant had eight. Bright and Qualls each had five points, while Mitzel and Hill had three and two, respectively. Roth and Kasey Valentine each chipped in one point.
Bright led the team in rebounds with 12, while Channell and Mitzel had nine and seven, respectively.
Channell recorded six assists, while Rogel had four to go along with four steals. Mitzel had three steals.
Keystone hosts Union County on Thursday, Jan. 13, at 7 p.m. The Indians travel to play Ponte Vedra on Friday, Jan. 14, at 7:30 p.m. and then travel to play Palatka on Tuesday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m.
