Two Brooker men arrested during the same Bradford County Sheriff’s Office drug operation and charged with similar crimes received vastly different sentences.
Clem David Prescott, 70, and David Bridges Prescott, 45, were arrested on July 18 for possessing a controlled substance without a prescription, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, and keeping a public nuisance structure for drug activity.
Last month, the younger Prescott signed off on a plea agreement sending him to prison for two years. On October 4, the 70-year-old pled to the exact charges as his son, but under his deal, he was sentenced to four years drug offender probation.
According to arrest reports, when officers arrived at the defendants’ Ward Street mobile home around 10:20 a.m. on July 18, Clem Prescott exited the house and surrendered.
Deputies found methamphetamine in the living room and in two bedrooms.
The elder Prescott told detectives that one of the bedrooms was his while his son slept in the other.

Later in the afternoon, deputies received an anonymous tip that David Prescott was at a Melvin Street home in Brooker.
There, they found the defendant in the backyard and took him into custody.
Clem Prescott had two previous drug convictions at the time of his sentencing. However, the 45-year-old had three convictions for driving with a suspended or revoked license, as well as convictions for dealing in stolen property, grand theft, forgery, petit theft, fraudulent use of a credit card, and making a fraudulent pawnbroker transaction.
