Indians have big 2nd half, defeat Newberry 12-4 in boys soccer

Aaron Wiley scored five goals for the Keystone Heights High School boys soccer team, which scored nine second-half goals in defeating visiting Newberry 12-4 on Nov. 27 in the Indians’ home opener.

Bryce Huntley and Noah Jaramillo each had three goals as a 3-3 match at halftime turned into an eight-goal District 4-3A win for Keystone. The Indians (3-0) are now 2-0 in the district.

Luke Brunt, who scored a goal, and Wiley shared the team high in assists with three. Huntley had two assists, while Jaramillo, Landon Spence and Sammy Wacha each had one.

Wiley is currently second in all of Class 3A in goals scored this season with 10. He’s also tied for third in all of the state, regardless of classification.

Brunt’s six total assists puts him in a tie for first in Class 3A, while Wiley’s five goals has him tied for second. They are tied for fourth and fifth, respectively, in all classifications.

The Indians travel to play district opponent Interlachen onTuesday, Nov. 28, at 7 p.m. and will host West Nassau on Friday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m. Keystone then hosts Bell on Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 7:20 p.m.
