Union County High School kept a winning streak intact as it closed out the regular season with wins over Middleburg, Baker County and Hamilton County.

The Tigers (14-3) hosted Middleburg on Jan. 27, winning 81-43. Stats weren’t available, but senior Gavin Jenkins did reach 1,000 points for his career.

Union traveled to Glen St. Mary to play Baker County for the second time in four days. The Tigers recorded the season sweep, defeating the Wildcats 56-41.

The Tigers hosted Hamilton County in their regular-season finale, winning 76-41.

Union is on a six-game winning streak, with an average margin of victory of 23 points during that span.

Every win in the streak but one (Hamilton County) came against a school in a larger classification.

The Tigers are 13th in the Florida High School Athletic Association/MaxPreps Rural Class power rankings.

Union earned the third seed in the District 6 tournament, which is being hosted by Bell High School. The Tigers will play second seed Trenton in a semifinal game on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 5:30 p.m. If the Tigers win, they’ll play top seed Fort White or fourth seed Bell for the championship on Friday, Feb. 7, at a time to be determined.

Trenton is the Rural Class’ 11th-ranked team, while Fort White is ranked eighth.

Union played Trenton once in the regular season, losing by three points.

The Tigers also played Fort White once in the regular season, losing by seven points.
