Ryland Rike, Kayla Mueller, Laila Hill, Alixiyah Nicolas (l-r) are Bradford High School’s first-ever AICE diploma recipients. They are eligible for Bright Futures Florida Academic scholarships, which pay for 100 percent of students’ tuition.
Laila Hill, Kayla Mueller, Alixiyah Nicolas and Ryland Rike were recognized as Bradford High School’s first-ever Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education Program graduates during a Nov. 18 ceremony in the school’s auditorium.
The four students, who passed seven AICE exams, are eligible for Bright Futures Florida Academic scholarships, which pay for 100 percent of tuition.
Bradford has another 15 students who are program completers — students who’ve passed some exams, but not the seven required to be program graduates. Those students are Wyatt Acevedo, Isabella Brennen, Daelyn Cornwall, Mailia Deese, Evan Franks, Rachel Hager, Koy Hartley, Camron Newman, Diego Ochoa, James Powell, Amy Prescott, Summer Martin, Kailyn Teal, Addison Thornton and Charlie Zink. Principal Chris Coffey said 13 of those students are on track to join Hill, Mueller, Nicolas and Rike as program graduates by the end of this school year.
Students participating in the Cambridge AICE Program earn college credits as well as high school credits by passing exams. With 136 students passing 136 AICE exams in the 2024-25 school year, it is estimated they saved approximately $90,000 in college tuition. All of Bradford’s full-time AICE Program students passed at least one exam last school year, which was the second year BHS offered the program.
Coffey has been quoted in the past as saying that the AICE Program complements the school’s mission, which is “to provide our students with an environment that challenges all students academically, to empower them to become lifelong learners in a very diverse, global community. That part right there is one of the biggest reasons why we wanted to bring the AICE Program here — to bring a very rigorous program here that was going to prepare our students to be successful.”
The Nov. 18 ceremony recognized students who passed the following exams the past school year: English General Paper, English Language, Environmental Management, European History, Global Perspectives, Marine Science, Thinking Skills and U.S. History.
Besides the AICE Program graduates and completers, the following students passed at least one AICE exam: Destiny Alexander, Drake Benejam, Amber Boenert, Jo’vanni Borelli-Simms, Kadynce Brown, Skyla Buonacore, Rowan Butler, Delana Callan, Wyat Canipe, Steven Carter, Dillan Perez Clarkson, Trevor Clements, Emalyn Crawford, Kaydence Crawford, Mackenna Davis, Victoria Hudgens, Brylee Gibson, Hayden Goodwin, Harley Grantz, Tucker Griffis, Brandy Hall, Jashiyah Hendrieth, Ella Hense, Victoria Hudgens, Landon King, Ariana Lee, Jamiee Lin, Keskai Padilla, Donald Painter, Hayden Paris, Patrick Pendarvis, Henry Prescott, Isabella Pritchett, Sarah Rantz, Hailey Redding, Remington Redding, Kelsey Reddish, Koen Reddish, Brooke Rodriguez, Reece Scoggins, Sevon Smart, Bailey Smith, Jackson Snyder, Samuel Stephens, Noah Stoehr, William Warren, Emma Weimern, Zachary Wells, Daniece Westberry, Bryston Williams, Emmalee Yates and Julia Zurfluh.
