Shawn Michael Jose Andujar

28, of Starke, was arrested by Bradford deputies on May 21 for battery.
Deputy Paul Moody Jr. responded to a residence shortly before 11 a.m. in reference to an assault, according to an arrest report. The victim, Andujar’s girlfriend, told the deputy the couple had argued after she gave her child whole milk instead of the formula the child was supposed to be drinking.
The woman added that after a verbal exchange, Andujar dragged her into a bedroom and wrapped both hands around her throat, cutting off her air supply, the report states. She told the deputy she broke free and called 911.
Moody wrote that he observed what appeared to be a bruise on the right side of the woman’s neck and photographed the injury. Emergency medical responders transported her to HCA Florida North Florida Regional’s Starke campus for evaluation. A child at the residence witnessed part of the incident, and the Florida Department of Children and Families was notified, according to the report.
The report states Andujar told the deputy at the scene that he and the woman “got into a physical altercation” and later spontaneously said he had put his hands on her. After being read his Miranda rights, Andujar declined to speak further, Moody wrote.
The claims made in police reports are unproven and defendants are innocent until proven guilty.
