The members of Starke’s First Baptist Church will vote on May 31 whether or not to become affiliated with Jacksonville-based Church of the Eleven22, effectively ending First Baptist Church after 149 years.
The Church of the Eleven22 began as a contemporary worship service at Beach United Methodist Church in 2008. The service began at 11:22 a.m. Four years later, the Methodist congregation planted a new non-denominational church with 600 families in a former Walmart at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and San Pablo Road.
